Representation and influence

Study UK works with other bodies in the education sector to drive reforms to national policy on a range of issues, including higher education regulation and international students.

We meet regularly with key officials and are represented at the highest level on both standing committees and working groups, including the following:

  • Regular meetings with Deputy Director (Alternative Providers) and others at the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills (BIS)
  • Regular meetings with Head of Alternative Provider Engagement and others at HEFCE
  • Observer status on the QAA Board
  • Member of the QAA Educational Oversight Liaison Forum
  • Member of the QAA Steering Group for the UK Quality Code for Higher Education
  • Member of the QAA Advisory Group for the Higher Education Qualifications Framework
  • Regular meetings with the Heads of Migration Policy and Student Policy at the Home Office
  • Regular meetings with the Head of Sponsorship and Sponsor Management team at UK Visas and Immigration
  • Member of the Home Office Education Sector Forum, formal policy forum with the education sector on immigration issues
  • Member of the British Council Education UK Advisory Group
  • Member of the UKTI Education Sector Panel
