Plenary session summaries:

Teaching, Quality and the Excellence Adventure: Higher Education in flux
2015 has been a year of seismic shifts in the quality landscape for higher education. 2016 promises new roles for existing bodies and a renewed focus on the classroom experience. The combined forces of widening participation, quality assessment and teaching excellence will put pressure on the reputation and status of new and established providers in the marketplace. Our expert panel explores what the next year has in store for academics, HE wonks and regulators alike.

The Brightest, the Best and the Bogus? Addressing immigration concerns in education
International education has suffered from successive governments’ drives to shape the immigration narrative, and the new Conservative administration claims a mandate for more. In this plenary debate we hear from the Home Office about their goals for immigration control within a global education market. A panel of sector experts and political analysts consider whether the government has the balance right and what future the UK has in international education.
