Student Engagement Webinar TODAY, Workshop 9 February

27 January 2016

Dear Quality Manager,

Study UK is running a workshop which will prepare you and your students to undertake the essential aspects of QAA reviews including training Lead Student Representatives and supporting students in writing a written submission to the review process.

There will be an introductory webinar to this session today at 1pm, sign up here.

Run with The Student Engagement Partnership, who are partly funded by QAA and HEFCE, the workshop is designed to support student engagement in quality processes and more widely within your institution. The focus will be on developing students as partners, a key element in all four QAA reviews and considered best practice across tertiary education.

As a special focus, this workshop will offer training directly to students. Course and lead student representatives can receive training to undertake their role in reviews, to gather and articulate the student voice and to work cooperatively with the institution to enhance the student experience.

From 1  August 2015 many alternative providers which are QAA reviewed will need to undergo Higher Education Review for Alternative Providers (formerly HER plus). It is a requirement for designation for student finance and preferred by validation partners. QAA expects students to be involved throughout the HER process, up to and including the student submission and the new online tool for individual student submissions. This is a significantly larger role for students than has been in place in the past.

This workshop is the only of its type specifically designed for alternative providers and their students. It is highly recommended for all those who will be undertaking HER in the next 18 months. It will also be very valuable for those starting their student representative systems.
