Implementing the new Counter Terrorism Prevent duty

9 December 2015, in London

The Counter Terrorism and Security Act 2015 places the statutory 'Prevent' duty on many education providers (in both the public and independent sectors) to address the risk of their students being drawn into terrorism. Providers will need to establish oversight mechanisms, conduct risk assessments, develop an action plan and arrange staff training in order to meet their obligations under this duty, as well as potentially to revise policies and procedures on hosting external events and speakers. This event will give you all the information you need, with speakers from the Government, Prevent monitoring bodies and solicitors explaining what is expected of you and considering the implications for your staff and students.
