How to join

Who is eligible to join?

Membership of Study UK is open to any college or provider of further or higher education that:

  1. Holds valid accreditation by the British Accreditation Council (BAC); or operates under the Educational Oversight of the Quality Assurance Agency (QAA), Independent Schools Inspectorate (ISI) or other Home Office approved Educational Oversight Body.
  2. Agrees to abide by the Association's Memorandum & Articles of Association and the Study UK Rules

In addition, members will be entitled to become Premier Members if they:

  1. Have been accredited or operated under Educational Oversight for a minimum of four years
  2. Have completed a minimum of two successful consecutive full inspections or reviews
  3. Are fully accredited by a British university to run either a complete degree programme or final year under official licence, having successfully gone through the university's official Quality Assurance process.*

* NB. Colleges and other providers that do not offer courses at degree level may also acquire Premier Member status by special invitation of the Study UK Board.

Membership fees

Annual Membership fees are set according to the college's size on the following scale:



1 - 100 full-time equivalent students £515 p/a
101 - 450 full-time equivalent students £775 p/a
450+ full-time equivalent students £1030 p/a

Premier members pay a £500 annual supplement.

For new members, membership fees are charged pro rata on the basis of complete months in membership. 

Application procedure

Applying to join Study UK is a straightforward process and involves:

  • Submission of a completed application form (see the Join Study UK section to apply online or download the form as a PDF document); and
  • Submission of current publicity materials

Final authority for ratifying membership applications rests with the Study UK Board.
